HC 3-21-17

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:26‬ ‭NIV‬‬

My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power (1 Corinthians 2:4-5).

“Now, brothers and sisters, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction?”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Similarly, people tend to respond much better to a demonstration of power than a detailed “sales pitch” on the features and benefits of Heaven.”

“My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power (1 Corinthians 2:4-5).”

“My pastor, Bill Johnson, says it well when he says, “Without power, the gospel is not good news.” This statement is usually followed by this challenge: “We owe the world an encounter”
